Spring. Love. Showers.

Well, Seasons are changing. Ok, well maybe not here in the Mile High. I counted at least 6 inches of snow out there today. BUT Spring is in my heart and Love is in the air.

Seems like we will be in full swing of showers for the next few months. Baby, Birthday, Wedding, Bridal.... Whatever event you might be planning these next few months, here are some inspiring looks for your next event.

I love how delicate this is. Notice the "desk" they use for sweets.
Closer look. Very simple. Love it.

I love how they used the frame. Love how dainty this is.
Cool use of music and Rock and Roll. I believe this was inspired by Pretty in Pink.

I LOVE this! Sequinned table cloth. Gold runners and Pink!

I love the use of fabric and ribbons for a back drop.
Not to mention the big canisters for candy!
Oh, and Strawberry Milk in the glass bottles!

Hope this inspired you the way it did me!

My Funny Valentine

Well... tomorrow is the Big Day. Whether you are celebrating with your LOVE or your Friends, here are some ideas.. and a quick fun DIY flower arrangment.

Inspiration
I will show you how to make this flower arrangement.

First:
You need two vases. One that can fit inside the other and leave 1/4 inch gap.

Next, place the vase inside the other like this.
And now you can add whatever kind of candy that you would like inside.

I decided on these fun, FAKE, flowers.. I plan on
using these till at least Easter.. changing out the candy.
I added a nice little bow.
There Ya Go! So fun, Right?
Here is a look at my VDAY decor for my Hubby.

 Added a few Pictures.
And some balloons.
I found this cute chalk board in the dollar bin at Target.

I also found this BeMine and Love in the same bin.
Added some chocolates for my Sweetheart.
 Another look.
I also found these cute KISS blocks in the same bin.

Well Guys, there ya go. Got most of everything at Target. Flowers from Michaels.
Hope this gave you an idea or inspired something totally new!

Valentine's Day Inspiration

So, Christmas is over, my tree is still up, BUT will be down soon. This week in Target I noticed so many fun valentines STUFF!! So I decided, since Christmas was so fun to decorate for, why not Add V-Day to the mix... AND so I purchased a few things to get me started and thought I would post some inspirational photos of what I may OR may not do...

I will be replacing this counter display with V-Day fun!!

I thought this was simple and sweet.
Great way to use your old candy sprinkles!

I will be doing a blog that shows how to use these
Yummy candies in as a filler in a flower arrangement.

Ok, so this is SUPER cute. You could also
create your own crossword puzzle and circle words
that describe your LOVE for your
Valentine!

Doilies. Must buy. Plenty of fun things to use them for!

One great way to use that antique milk glass pitcher you had to buy
and didn't know why! This is great for all seasons!

Garland, You KNOW I love these...
see my past blogs on how to personalize!
Great for your VDay Party or to hang around the house
for the family.

I love the idea of stringing PomPoms on fishing wire!!!
My brain is going crazy with the possibilities!

Reason 134 to buy a really nice black pedestal planter!

Frame, scrapbook paper, die cuts, BAM,
Really cute addition!

For all you Hipsters, ;)

Love the Paisley table runner. Yes, this will happen!

L.O.V.E. this!
And this is the flower arrangement I will show you how to make with
sweethearts!

I will also be doing a blog on making these lovely
creations, great for parties, wedding showers, etc....

Alice in Wonderland... that's what comes to mind.
I REALLY need an event to recreate this at! I think VDay would work?!?!

I am thinking of making these for a fundraiser! I already have the pans...

I am raising funds for a great cause to remember my late Aunt Shelly.

Merry Christmas

What a year we have had!! Blessed doesn't come close. There were definitely it's ups and downs. Memaw passed November of 2010 from a short battle with cancer. A short 5 months later my aunt Shelly (Memaw's daughter) overcame her battle with a long journey of Cancer and  was promoted to glory. Still shocked from the loss of two very dear people in my life I found out that my mother has breast cancer. I am happy to report that her prognoses was good and she has been undergoing chemo therapy and seems to be responding. SO to say the least, it has been a year of ups and downs. God's hand has been steady on my life and truly has given me peace that passes all understanding of these situations. Matt and I are so blessed with a wonderful support group that is our family. Mother's and sisters who know how to pray and cover us with that prayer and a church that is so very supportive and loving. We are thankful and blessed with our jobs and our responsibilities with the Colorado District Quiz Family (y'all rock), leading worship at our church, and assisting a fine group of people at Denver's House of Worship. We feel that God has protected us and blessed us, and for that we are so very thankful. Surely His goodness and mercy have been with us in 2011. Thank you to all of our Friends and Family that hold us up in prayer and show us so much love. May God Bless you!!

Merry Christmas

Bridal Event

Here is a look at a Bridal Luncheon I organized this past summer. The colors of the wedding were Black, Red, Silver.

This was the "Treats" table. It had a very Dramatic Center Piece. I added the Damask Ribbon and gems to the arrangement. My favorite part of this was the cakes!!! They were so cute! I took the look I wanted to the bakery, Frills Cake Shop http://www.frillscakeshop.com/ and they did a perfect job of  making the look come to life! I added the flowers. I "flexed" some tulips. Basically you are bending the petals back. Makes a very pretty flower!!

Here is a closer look at one of the cakes.
I LOVED this one!!!!
A look at the table. I added ribbon to the base of the flower arrangements to add color to the table.
I used Hydrangeas and roses for the arrangement. There is also silver stems with jewels hanging from it. The runners I made. I had a hard time finding the pattern I wanted.... so when in doubt, SEW!

We had flower balls made for the tree. I included small details like with the Bride Banner... made a nice keep sake of the day.

I do have more pictures that I will have to add! The event turned out great! I was super happy.

http://www.the36thavenue.com/2011/09/fabric-wreath-tutorial.html

Learn to make this! I promise, I will be making this! In SEVERAL ways. REALLY excited!!!!  Notice the Paisley's?????

***UPDATE***
I told Y'all I was going to make one.. and I did!
I Really Love the Orange. I like the lighter orange in the one made in the other blog... but this worked great!

Instead of the Welcome I used V for Valdez.
I found the crow at the dollar store! The fabric I had to buy at Hobby Lobby. The orange fabric was 30% off today AND I got to use their web coupon, 40% off for the other yard! Not bad.

See, You can do it!

So, I wanted to add my Sweet, kind, and Oh so VERY talented Friend, Bethany's Wreath.

Introducing Bethany! (and her Sweet Baby girls)

Bethany is super creative. She amazes me at her projects which range from making beautiful baby bedding to Unbelievable Birthday Cakes for her girls.... (I will have to see if she will let me share a pic with you!)
So, she saw my blog and was inspired to make her very own wreath. SO I asked her if I could share it so you could see some variety and another point of view!

Here is her masterpiece!
SO cute!
We are both currently working on our second one. They are THAT easy and super fun to make!!! So many options! So many seasons!
